In order to use the services, we will ask you to enter information about your preferences, name, email, and interests. We also automatically collect from your device language settings, IP address, time zone, type and model of a device, device settings, operating system, Internet service provider, mobile carrier, hardware ID, and other unique identifiers. We need this data to provide our services, analyze how our customers use the service, and to improve our educational video platform.

For improving our service, we use third party solutions. As a result, we may process data using solutions developed by Firebase (Google), RevenueCat, Apple, Google Sign-In, Meta Facebook SDK, ByteDance TikTok SDK, MixPanel. Some of the data is stored and processed on servers of such third parties. This enables us to: (1) analyze different interactions (how often users watch videos, what categories they prefer, what is the average time spent by users on the platform); (2) provide personalized educational content recommendations. Consequently, we better understand what features and content you find most valuable and are able to focus on them to enhance your experience and increase the quality of our products.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected when you use the RiseWise mobile application ("App"), our related services (together "Services"), how such personal data will be used, shared or otherwise processed.

BY USING THE SERVICES, YOU PROMISE US THAT (I) YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY, AND (II) YOU ARE OVER 16 YEARS OF AGE (OR HAVE HAD YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN READ AND AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY FOR YOU). If you do not agree, or are unable to make this promise, you must not use the Services. In such case, you must (a) delete your account using the functionality found in "Settings" in the App; (b) cancel any subscriptions through your App Store account settings; and (c) delete the App from your device(s).

"GDPR" means the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

"EEA" includes all current member states to the European Union and the European Economic Area. For the purpose of this policy EEA shall include the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

"Process", in respect of personal data, includes to collect, store, and disclose to others.

We collect data you give us voluntarily (for example, when you create an account, select your interests, or save videos). We also may receive data about you from third parties (for example, when you sign in via Google). We also collect data automatically (for example, your IP address, device information, app usage analytics) and use third-party service providers for such collection.

1.1. Data you give us

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your display name, email address (if provided through Google Sign-In), and profile picture URL (if available from Google).

  • Preferences and Interests: Your selected categories and topics of interest to personalize your educational content experience.

  • Content Interactions: Videos you save, like, add to watch later, quotes you save or like, and your viewing progress.

  • Communication Data: When you contact our support team, we collect your messages and any information you choose to provide.

1.2. Data we collect automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, model, operating system version, device identifiers, screen resolution, and hardware specifications.

  • Usage Analytics: How you interact with videos, time spent watching, features used, app navigation patterns, and content preferences.

  • Technical Data: IP address, internet connection type, app version, crash logs, and performance metrics.

  • Location Data: General location information derived from IP address (country/region level only).

  • Google Sign-In: Basic profile information including name, email, and profile picture when you choose to sign in with Google.

  • Firebase Services: Authentication data, app usage analytics, and crash reporting data.

  • RevenueCat: Subscription status, purchase history, and payment-related information for premium features.

  • Meta Facebook SDK: In-app analytics data, user interaction events, and app performance metrics for analytics and optimization purposes.

  • ByteDance TikTok SDK: In-app analytics data, user behavior tracking, app performance metrics, and advertising attribution data for analytics and marketing optimization purposes.

  • MixPanel: User behavior analytics, event tracking, funnel analysis, and user engagement metrics for product optimization and user experience improvement.

2. For what purposes we process your personal data

We process your personal data:

  • 2.1 To provide our Services: This includes enabling you to access educational video content, search functionality, personalized recommendations, and premium features. We use your account information to maintain your profile, sync your preferences across devices, and provide seamless access to saved content.

  • 2.2 To customize your experience: We process your interests and viewing history to recommend relevant educational videos, customize your daily insights, and show content from categories you've selected. This helps us provide a more personalized learning experience tailored to your educational goals.

  • 2.3 To manage your account: We process your personal data to secure your account access, manage your subscription status, and send you important notifications about service updates, subscription renewals, or changes to our Terms and Privacy Policy.

  • 2.4 To communicate with you regarding your use of our Services: We send push notifications for daily insights, reminders to continue learning, new content recommendations, and other educational prompts. To opt out of push notifications, change the settings on your device. For email communications, use the unsubscribe link in our emails.

  • 2.5 To provide you with customer support: We process your personal data to respond to your requests for technical support, account assistance, and general inquiries about our Services.

  • 2.6 To research and analyze your use of the Services: This helps us understand how users interact with educational content, which features are most valuable, what types of videos are most engaging, and how we can improve the learning experience. We use this data for statistical analysis, A/B testing, and service improvement.

  • 2.7 To process payments and manage subscriptions: We work with RevenueCat and Apple/Google to process subscription payments, manage premium access, handle refunds, and track subscription status. This ensures you have uninterrupted access to premium educational features.

  • 2.8 To ensure security and prevent fraud: We monitor for unusual account activity, prevent unauthorized access, and protect against fraudulent subscription activities to maintain the security of our platform and your personal data.

  • 3.1 Consent: When you provide explicit consent for specific processing activities, such as receiving marketing communications or allowing photo library access for sharing quotes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Supplemental notice for Nevada residents

12. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us at support@risewise.app. Upon deletion:

  • Your account and profile data will be permanently deleted

  • Your viewing history and preferences will be removed

  • Saved videos and quotes will be deleted

  • We may retain some data for legal compliance or security purposes

The deletion process may take up to 30 days. Cancel any active subscriptions before account deletion to avoid additional charges.

13. Data retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy:

  • Account Data: Until you delete your account or request deletion

  • Usage Analytics: Up to 2 years for service improvement

  • Support Communications: Up to 3 years for quality assurance

14. How "Do Not Track" requests are handled

Our app does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals. You can control data collection through your device settings and app preferences.
